Dua for Anxiety, Grief and Worry
When a person feels anxious, worried, distressed, or overcome by grief, this Masnoon Dua should be recited. Hazrat Anas bin Malik رضي الله عنه narrated that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ would frequently seek refuge in Allah from worry, grief, weakness, laziness, debt, and being overcome by people.
Dua in Arabic
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْهَمِّ وَالْحَزَنِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْعَجْزِ وَالْكَسَلِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْجُبْنِ وَالْبُخْلِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ غَلَبَةِ الدَّيْنِ وَقَهْرِ الرِّجَالِ
Roman English
Allahumma inni a‘oodhu bika minal-hammi wal-hazan, wa a‘oodhu bika minal-‘ajzi wal-kasal, wa a‘oodhu bika minal-jubni wal-bukhl, wa a‘oodhu bika min ghalabatid-dayni wa qahrir-rijaal.
English Meaning
“O Allah, I seek refuge in You from worry and grief, and I seek refuge in You from inability and laziness, and I seek refuge in You from cowardice and miserliness, and I seek refuge in You from the burden of debt and from being overcome by men.”
