Dua for Restlessness and Anxiety


When a person feels restless, worried, or overwhelmed by anxiety, this Masnoon Dua should be recited. Hazrat Anas bin Malik رضي الله عنه narrated that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ used to seek Allah’s protection from worry, grief, weakness, laziness, cowardice, miserliness, debt, and being overpowered by others.

Dua in Arabic

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْهَمِّ وَالْحَزَنِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْعَجْزِ وَالْكَسَلِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْجُبْنِ وَالْبُخْلِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ غَلَبَةِ الدَّيْنِ وَقَهْرِ الرِّجَالِ

Roman English

Allahumma inni a‘oodhu bika minal-hammi wal-hazan, wa a‘oodhu bika minal-‘ajzi wal-kasal, wa a‘oodhu bika minal-jubni wal-bukhl, wa a‘oodhu bika min ghalabatid-dayni wa qahrir-rijaal.

English Meaning

“O Allah, I seek refuge in You from worry and grief, and I seek refuge in You from inability and laziness, and I seek refuge in You from cowardice and miserliness, and I seek refuge in You from the burden of debt and from being overcome by men.”
