Dua for Visiting a Sick Person


When visiting a sick person, this Masnoon Dua should be recited for their Shifa and recovery. Hazrat Ibn Abbas رضي الله عنهما narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said that whoever visits a sick person who is not yet at the point of death and recites this Dua seven times, Allah will grant him healing from that illness.

Dua in Arabic

أَسْأَلُ اللَّهَ الْعَظِيمَ، رَبَّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ، أَنْ يَشْفِيَكَ

Roman English

As’alullaahal-‘Azeema, Rabbal-‘Arshil-‘Azeemi, an yashfiyak.

English Meaning

“I ask Allah, the Mighty, the Lord of the Mighty Throne, to heal you.”

Reference

Jami‘ at-Tirmidhi 2083. The Dua is reported from Ibn Abbas رضي الله عنهما regarding visiting a sick person and reciting it seven times.
