Dua During Storms
When there is a storm or severe weather with strong winds, this Masnoon Dua should be recited. Hazrat Aishah رضي الله عنها narrated that when the wind became strong, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would ask Allah Ta’ala for its good and seek refuge from its evil.
Dua in Arabic
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَهَا، وَخَيْرَ مَا فِيهَا، وَخَيْرَ مَا أُرْسِلَتْ بِهِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّهَا، وَشَرِّ مَا فِيهَا، وَشَرِّ مَا أُرْسِلَتْ بِهِ
Roman English
Allahumma inni as’aluka khayraha, wa khayra maa feeha, wa khayra maa ursilat bihi, wa a‘oodhu bika min sharriha, wa sharri maa feeha, wa sharri maa ursilat bihi.
English Meaning
“O Allah, I ask You for the good of this wind, the good within it, and the good for which it has been sent. And I seek refuge in You from its evil, the evil within it, and the evil for which it has been sent.” (Sunnah)
Reference
This Dua is narrated from Hazrat Aishah رضي الله عنها in Sahih Muslim. A similar narration is also reported in Jami‘ at-Tirmidhi 3449, in the chapter concerning what to say when the wind becomes rough. (Sunnah)
Dua During Storms is a Masnoon Dua to recite during storms and severe winds. The Dua asks Allah Ta’ala for the goodness of the wind and seeks protection from its evil and any harm associated with it.
