Dua When Seeing the Kaaba in Roman English

Dua When Seeing the Kaaba – Dua for Kaaba | काबा देखने की दुआ

Dua When Seeing the Kaaba

When a Muslim sees the Kaaba during Hajj or Umrah, it is a deeply blessed and emotional moment. There is no specific Dua for seeing the Kaaba that is established with strong, authentic evidence as a fixed Sunnah. Therefore, one may sincerely make any Dua for forgiveness, mercy, acceptance and goodness.

A commonly quoted supplication for this occasion is:

Dua in Arabic

اللَّهُمَّ زِدْ هَذَا الْبَيْتَ تَشْرِيفًا وَتَعْظِيمًا وَتَكْرِيمًا وَمَهَابَةً

Roman English

Allahumma zid haadhal-bayta tashreefan, wa ta‘zeeman, wa takreeman, wa mahaabah.

English Meaning

“O Allah, increase this House in honor, greatness, nobility and awe.”

Reference

This wording is reported in classical sources, including Sunan al-Bayhaqi, but scholars have differed regarding the strength of the reports concerning a specific fixed Dua upon first seeing the Kaaba. Therefore, it is better not to present this as a definitively established Masnoon Dua of the Prophet ﷺ

At the first sight of the Kaaba, a person may instead make any sincere Dua they wish, such as asking Allah Ta’ala for forgiveness, acceptance of Hajj or Umrah, mercy, guidance and goodness in this world and the Hereafter. There is also no sound evidence that every Dua made at the first sight of the Kaaba is automatically guaranteed to be accepted.
