Ayat-ul-Kursi Before Sleeping
Reciting Ayat-ul-Kursi (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:255) before going to sleep is an established Sunnah for protection during the night. In Sahih al-Bukhari 2311, Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه reported that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ confirmed that whoever recites Ayat-ul-Kursi before going to bed will have a guard from Allah, and Shaytan will not come near him until morning.

English Meaning
“Allah—there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of all. Neither drowsiness nor sleep overtakes Him. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is before them and what is behind them, and they encompass nothing of His knowledge except what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation does not tire Him. And He is the Most High, the Most Great.”
