Dua for Wearing New Clothes
When wearing new clothes, this Masnoon Dua should be recited. In this dua, we thank Allah Ta’ala for providing us with new clothing and ask Him to grant us its goodness and protect us from its evil.
Dua in Arabic
اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ أَنْتَ كَسَوْتَنِيهِ، أَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَهُ وَخَيْرَ مَا صُنِعَ لَهُ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّهِ وَشَرِّ مَا صُنِعَ لَهُ
Roman English
Allaahumma lakal-hamdu anta kasawtaneehi, as’aluka khairahu wa khaira maa suni‘a lahu, wa a‘oodhu bika min sharrihi wa sharri maa suni‘a lahu.
English Meaning
“O Allah, all praise is for You. You have clothed me with it. I ask You for its goodness and the goodness for which it was made, and I seek refuge in You from its evil and the evil for which it was made.”
