Dua for Ghusl-e-Janabah
Before performing Ghusl-e-Janabah, this commonly recited intention may be made. It begins with the name of Allah and expresses the intention to remove the state of major ritual impurity.
Dua in Arabic
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الَّذِي أَتَطَهَّرُ بِهِ لِأَرْفَعَ الْحَدَثَ الْأَكْبَرَ
Roman English
Bismillaahil-lazee atatahhharu bihi li-arfa‘al-hadathal-akbar.
English Meaning
“In the name of Allah, with which I purify myself to remove the state of major ritual impurity.”
